I bought this item as a last resort. Our previous metal dish rack was of a similar design; we loved it but it finally broke after 15 years. This item will only be in our house until I find a better design that looks similar to this. This rack can't hold plates or glasses securely, and easily collapses. If you want a rack for silverware, that's a separate purchase. I had no idea that the silverware holder had to be purchased separately - who would have thought that would be the case?!I can't even get it to stand up without dishes in it so I can't imagine it will work any better with dishes.
